Find a Local Architect - AIAPV Member Directory

Architects complete many years of education and practical experience, and must pass a rigorous set of examinations, before becoming licensed to practice by a state architectural licensing board. Architects employ specialized skills to design all types of buildings and communities, with the health, safety and welfare of the people who will use them in mind.

Not sure whether or how you should use the services of an architect? Our resources on Working with an Architect can help you understand what an architect can do for you.

How to use this directory

Filters: Use the filters to search by locality, building type or Architects Areas of Specialty and review architects' profiles to see additional areas of specialty. Allied Members who provide services to architects are also included in this directory. Filter under Allied Industry Service Areas to find the allied professional you need for your next project. You can also view allied member profiles here.

Sort Views: Click the first two column headers to see an alternate sort view:
Member Name - changes sort from A-Z to Z-A and vice versa with each click.
Address / Contact Info - sorts by zip code low to high and high to low with each click.

Search box: The search function is located on the top right of listings below and searches name and company fields only.

NOTE: Detailed information for Firms that are located in the Chapter’s territory are listed in this directory. AIAPV's region includes Charles, Prince George’s, Montgomery, Frederick, Washington, Garrett, and Allegany Counties. Only members who have opted-in to the online directory will appear.

Who are AIA Members?

All architects in this database are members of the American Institute of Architects through the Potomac Valley Chapter.**

AIA members who are licensed architects use the letters "AIA" after their names.

AIA members who have graduated from accredited architecture schools but are not yet licensed use "Assoc. AIA" after their names.

AIA Members who were licensed outside the U.S. use "International Assoc. AIA" after their names.

All AIA members are required to adhere to the highest ethical standards and to participate in continuing education that exceeds the minimum standards were maintaining their licenses. AIA members work together to advocate for the value of architecture and give architects the resources they need to do their best work. Our work drives positive change through the power of design.
