AIA Potomac Valley is recruiting bright, energetic volunteers to help produce quality programs in cooperation with their fellow architects and other program providers. Representing an area that stretches from Garrett to Charles Counties and everywhere between, the AIA Potomac Valley Chapter has what is perhaps one of the most rich and diverse memberships in terms of who we are and the types of architecture we practice. Programming Committees serve to support the Chapter mission through programming designed to foster and encourage connection, engagement and, most important, cognizant support within our member base. Each committee develops, coordinates, and provides architectural- and construction-related educational opportunities to members, those working in the architecture profession, and the public.

Awards Committee Oversees and conducts all chapter awards programs, including the Kea Medal and annual Design Awards. Oversees jury selection when AIAPV is requested to provide juries to other chapters. Chair: Scott Knudson, AIA |

Committee on the Environment (COTE) Covers issues related to sustainability, climate action, justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. Provides to architecture professionals tools, resources, and support needed to fully integrate topics of Sustainability and Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, so they can be advocates within their practices and within the industry at large. Custom Residential Architects Network (CRAN) The Capital Area CRAN (Custom Residential Architects Network) is a cooperative initiative among AIA Potomac Valley, AIA DC, and AIA Northern Virginia. Follow Capital Area CRAN on Facebook and Instagram. The tri-chapter Steering Committee plans programs, tours, and social/networking events for architects engaged in custom residential design. Each chapter, through its CRAN Committee, produces, in turn, four of the monthly Capital Area CRAN programs each year, most of which provide continuing education credits. Likewise, monthly programs are located within each chapter's geographic area on a rotating basis. Emerging Professionals Committee The AIA Potomac Valley Emerging Professionals Committee aims to provide a community and open forum for all Emerging Professionals including Associate AIA members, emerging Architects, students and new graduates, and Architects licensed 10 years or less. We are committed to providing opportunities for the next generation of Architects and Designers to engage and connect through networking, leadership, and professional development programs. Finance Committee Oversees chapter budget process, financial relationships, long-term fiscal planning and reporting to the board. This committee is comprised of the AIAPV Executive Committee and the PVAF President. Chair: Tom Nyein, AIA |

Programming Committees Each committee will plan a variety of programs throughout the year, and will be a sounding board for member ideas, discussions, and priorities.
