Webinar
Directions
This webinar is sponsored by Practice Management (PMKC), an AIA knowledge community.
DESCRIPTION
The relative balances of independence, collaboration, commitment, sacrifice, mentoring, support, and oversight between staff and management have been evolving for several years. While some firms have long-ago gone virtual, with some even dissolving the bonds of formal employment in favor of architectural gig work, COVID was a catalyst causing all other practices to adapt. In many cases, this has brought to light that the unspoken expectations of both staff and management differ.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After participating in this webinar attendees will:
- Understand how working at home has changed the relationship between staff, colleagues, supervisors/managers, and firm owners.
- Identify four types of employees relative to their levels of commitment to the firm.
- Describe different attitudes about work-life relationships and how they affect expectations of flexibility in the work environment.
- Distinguish between the needs of management to maintain quality control and efficiency and the habits of individual leaders that vary in their degree of control & supervision.
