LAST WEDNESDAY Lunch & Learn

Structural Thermal Breaks for Steel Connections
[Replacement presentation for the previously scheduled Composite Structures]

Course Description

This AIA-certified continuing education course focuses on the science behind thermal bridging at steel connections and the solutions available to address it.

Following a brief overview of where thermal bridging can occur, the presenter will address modern building design and standards that make this issue more important now than ever. Building codes relating to continuous insulation will be discussed – both current and future trends that impact building envelope design.

Attendees will also expand their knowledge of thermal modeling and the factors that affect thermal performance. The presenter will review all possible solutions to thermal bridging at steel connections, including the benefits and potential drawbacks for each.
