For over two decades, the three metro area chapters of the AIA, six local schools of architecture, the Washington Architectural Foundation and the National Building Museum have collaborated to organize the annual ISDC. Students enrolled in architecture programs at Catholic University, Howard University, Morgan State University, Virginia Tech’s Washington-Alexandria Architectural Center (WAAC), University of Maryland and the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) have greatly benefited from participating.

Team starts at 9:00 am
Charrette open to public at 11:00 am

National Building Museum, 401 F Street, NW, DC 20001, on the Red Line, Judiciary Square Station.

Free; RSVP not required (drop-in program)

Events include:
September 14 – Team Meeting and Reception for Students

September 17 – Charrette at the National Building Museum, 9:00 am-5:00 pm. Visitors are welcome to view the charrette in progress, but please note that the Museum does not open to the public until 11:00 am.

September 19 – Jury, Awards Ceremony and Reception at the National Building Museum, followed by the Spotlight on Design lecture showcasing the work of SmithGroupJJR. Tickets are required for the lecture and can be obtained on the NBM website.
