Join the AIA|DC Capital Area CRAN Committee for a summer film screening of the classic 1948 film “Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House.” Enjoy light refreshments with this comedy about the nightmares of home ownership as a man (Cary Grant) and his wife (Myrna Loy) decide they can afford to have a house in the country built to their specifications. The story unfolds with a long litany of unforeseen troubles and setbacks which beset the couple. This classic movie, based on a true story, went on to inspire more recent movies such as 1986’s “The Money Pit” and 2007’s “Are We Done Yet?”
